Lifting Simulator
Technip FMC

Objectives:

  • In order to prepare and validate complex lifting operations for very heavy parts (several hundred tons) on board a ship in the oil industry, Technip wanted to have an interactive, real-time and multi-user tool. .
  • The objective is twofold: to validate a lifting configuration designed by Technip and to allow operator training.

Solution:

  • Development of the complete simulator and consideration of the scalability required to add new scenarios for each lifting operation to be simulated
  • Development of a C # / C ++ wrapper to allow communication with a very realistic physics engine developed by a third-party laboratory.
  • Network development to allow several users to use the simulator simultaneously by taking on a specific role
  • Creation of the 3D environment
